How To Crochet Eastern Eggs




 


I have been wanting to learn how to crochet an Eastern Eggs. 
This free Eastern Eggs Tutorial taught me how to do it!  
I follow the steps in this easy tutorial and 
Now l know how to make my own Eastern Eggs. 
I got this free Crochet Pattern from Red Heart.
It is simple and easy to follow. Enjoy!
Crochet Hook:
3.75mm [US F-5].
Stitch marker
yarn needle
3½” diameter Styrofoam® eggs
Special Stitches
sc2tog
= [draw up a loop in next st] twice, yarn over and
draw through all 3 loops on hook.
sc3tog
= [draw up a loop in next st] 3 times, yarn over and
draw through all 4 loops on hook.
NOTE:
 Egg cover is worked in the round without joining.
Place marker at beginning of round and move marker up
to beginning of next round as work progresses.
EGG COVER
Beginning at tip of egg cover, with color of your choice, ch 4;
join with slip st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1 (Right Side):
Work 4 sc in ring—4 sc.
Round 2:
Work 2 sc in each sc around—8 sc.
Round 3:
[Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times—12 sc.
Round 4:
[Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times—16 sc.
Round 5:
[Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times—20 sc.
Round 6:
[Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times—24 sc.
Round 7:
[Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc] 4 times—28 sc.
Rounds 8 and 9:
Sc in each sc around.
Round 10:
[2 sc in next sc, sc in next 13 sc] twice—30 sc.
Rounds 11–14:
Sc in each sc around.
Round 15:
[Sc2tog, sc in next 13 sc] twice—28 sts.
Round 16:
[Sc2tog, sc in next 5 sc] 4 times—24 sts.
Insert Styrofoam® Egg:
Pull up a large loop (to mark
your place) and remove hook. Turn cover inside-out and
position wrong side of beginning ch-4 ring at tip of egg.
Roll cover down over egg. Insert hook back into large loop.
Tighten loop.
Round 17:
[Sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc] 4 times—20 sts.
Round 18:
[Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc] 5 times—15 sts.
Round 19:
[Sc3tog] 5 times—5 sts. Fasten off, leaving a
long tail.
FINISHING
Thread tail through stitches of last round and pull to close
opening. Weave in ends.

Materials:
  • Yarn: Lily® Sugar’n Cream Stripes (56.7 g / 2 oz) 4 balls of #21532 (Holiday Stripes).
  • Crochet Hook: Size 5 mm (U.S. H / 8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.4 grommets.

Size: 9 x 12 x 3½ ins [23 x 30.5 x 9 cm]

Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4 ins [10 cm].

Instructions:


Front and Back (make alike).
Ch 27.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch to end of ch. Turn. 26 sc. Work in sc for 11 ins [28 cm].
Next row: (Eyelet row). Ch 1. (1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) twice.
Turn. Work 2 rows in sc. Fasten off. Apply grommets in eyelets.

Gusset: Ch 12.
1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 11 sc. Work in sc for 33 ins
[84 cm]. Fasten off.
With WS tog, crochet Gusset to sides and bottom of Front and Back.

Handles: Ch 5. Join with sl st in first ch.
1st rnd: (RS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. 5 sc. Place marker for end of rnd and slip marker every rnd.
Work in sc for 16 ins [40.5 cm]. Fasten off. Thread handles through grommets and knot ends. I got this free pattern from favecrafts.com. This pattern makes beautiful shopping bag.

Crochet Bags

Material:
- Anchor Magicline yarn
- 5 rounds = 250g (5 balls)
- 7 rounds = 600g (12 balls)
- crocheting hook Nr. 3
- darning needle
Make 16 crocheted squares:
Ch 5, join with sl st . 1. round: Ch 3, 2 dc, Ch 3, 3 dc, Ch 3, 3 dc, Ch 3, 3
dc, Ch 3, sl st. Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc, 2 dc through chain, Ch 3, 2 dc through
chain, 3 dc, Ch 3, 2 dc through chain, Ch 3, 2 dc through chain, 3 dc, 2 dc
through chain.... follow this schema. If you like, change color after 4
rounds.
Crochet together:
Join 4 squares into a strip, make 4 strips. To do this, place 2 squares
right sides together, and crochet together on one side with single
crochet.
Then sew or crochet the four stripes together according to the drawing below. Fist connect the four
bottom squares, then crochet the sides together as shown.
For each strap, make a 90 stitch chain, then 3 rows single crochet. Make 2, then crochet or sew them on
the bag. At the end make a row of single crochet around all edges (bag and strap).

A Pattern Graph


On chart, X = solid mesh (dc in ea of next 3 dc)
blank square = open mesh (ch 2, skip next 2 sts or chs, dc in next dc)
When following chart, work the right side rows from right to left and the wrong side rows from left to right.
To work a solid mesh at the beginning of the row, ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 2 stitches or chains, dc in next dc.
To work a solid mesh within the row, dc in each of next 2 stitches or chains, dc in next dc.
To work an open mesh at the beginning of the row, ch 5, skip next 2 stitches or chains, dc in next dc.
To work an open mesh within the row, ch 2, skip next two stitches or chains, dc in next dc.
Materials:
size 10 crochet cotton thread
size 8 steel crochet hook
Gauge: 4 rows on graph = 1 inch
Bookmark with edging = 2 inches wide

Directions: To start, ch 19.
Foundation Row: dc in 5th ch from hook, dc in ea ch across. (16)
Begin to follow chart, working from the bottom up. Work first row on the chart from right to left.
After completing all rows on chart, begin again at the bottom of the chart for the next row. Continue to repeat chart in this manner for desired length.
After last repeat, end with row 1 of graph.
Last row: dc in ea dc and ch across. (16)
Edging: ch 3, (4 dc, ch 1, 5 dc) in corner stitch;
Working across top row: skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc; skip next 3 dc, 5 dc in next dc, skip next 3 dc, sc in next dc,skip next 2 dc, (5 dc, ch 1, 5 dc) in corner st.
Working down the side of the bookmark, *sc in side of next block or space, 5 dc in side of next block or space**, repeat * to ** until you reach next corner stitch.
In corner stitch, work 5 dc, ch 1, 5 dc.
Continue in same manner, working across bottom row (same as across top row), corner space and up other side. At end, slip stitch in first ch 3. End off. from about .com

Single Crochet Bag



How to do a single crochet:
  • Insert the hook into the work (2nd chain from hook on starting chain), yarn over hook and draw yarn through the work only.
  • Yarn over hook again and draw the yarn through both loops on the hook.
  • 1 single crochet made. Insert hook into next chain: repeat from in step 1.
Next Row: To begin another row in single crochet, chain 1, to turn, then single crochet in each single crochet across the row.
